Anthony Vitale

Owner, Master Stylist/Colorist

Combining his hair-styling skill with an artistic background, Anthony is one of the most innovative and creative stylists in the country.

A sixth-generation hair stylist, Anthony was taught by his father and he gave his first haircut at the age of 13. He also painted as a child and went on to attend several art schools, graduating from the California Institute of the Arts, where he majored in painting and design.

His educational background, particularly his expertise in color theory, proved to be a huge asset when he decided to pursue a career in hair design. “I look at hairstyling as a work of art,” Anthony says. “I carefully balance the cut, texture, movement, skin tone and eye color with the hairstyle. Along with suggestions from the client, I’m able to create a look that enhances the client’s natural beauty.”

Speaking of natural, Anthony is a firm believer in the use of all-natural shampoos, conditioners, colors and other products. He has developed his own natural product line, Anthony David, which is available at the salon. These products use natural ingredients and are free of sulfates, parabens and sodium chloride.

Anthony is also one of a few colorists in the country to use NaYo, a revolutionary yogurt-based, hair coloring system. It is free of ammonia, PPD dyes and unpleasant aromas.

"With natural products, we’re not sacrificing quality and we’re providing our clients with a much healthier alternative,” he explains. “It’s better for your hair and healthier overall, especially for people with allergies and other medical conditions.”

He opened the Anthony David Salon in 2010, pledging to provide a unique, creative and healthier experience for clients. “I’m good at what I do because I enjoy it,” Anthony says. “I get to work with wonderful people and express myself artistically. What could be better?”

Jackie Bowler

Jackie Bowler

Master Stylist

A graduate of Empire Beauty School, Jackie is an experienced colorist/stylist who is a student of her craft. By taking courses and attending seminars on a regular basis, she provides clients with the latest trends and techniques.

Jackie’s best quality, however, is her engaging personality and ability to relate to clients. “I listen intently to what they want and do the best I can to create the right look,” she says. “When I get my hair done, I am very particular. So I know how to treat a customer the right way.”

Jackie specializes in the revolutionary Slide Light and Raking techniques for a natural look in highlighting. She is also skilled at creating stick-straight blowouts, uniquely layered haircuts, and applying Keratin smoothing treatments. Trained using an Italian color method, her hair-coloring techniques add beautiful depth and dimension.

Jackie's certifications are Brazilian Keratin Express, Italian color method Rake Technique, Italian color method Slide Light Technique, Pravana Keratin Straitening, and also Babe Hair Extensions along with Feather Extensions and Hair Tinsel Extensions.

“I love my job because, when you do it right, it can be very artistic,” Jackie says. “And it really makes me feel good when the client is happy. You can make someone’s day just by transforming their hair.”

Krysten Merlina

Krysten Merlina

Stylist

Krysten’s ability to add dimension through foiling and cutting provides the style that works best for you. Whether it’s a professional look or something on the fun side, she’ll create the cut or color that perfectly suits you.

“I like to help people feel good about the way they look,” says Krysten, who also has expertise in layering and the latest smoothing systems. “In that way, it’s the most rewarding job anyone could have.”

In addition to Krysten's technical ability, her own life experiences have contributed to her styling skills. As a 10-year-old, a medical condition caused a temporary, but complete, loss of hair.

“That’s when I became interested in becoming a hairdresser,” she recalls. “I was fortunate enough to regain my hair and have the strength to enter the industry. But what I learned along the way was how to make people feel good about themselves. I can really relate to my clients and their hair issues because I've lived through it.”

When clients describe what they want, Krysten is a good listener. She understands what they’re going through – better than most.
